Reflecting on Evidence: What does empathy sound like in social work communication?

Tuesday 24 June, 10am to 11:30am  (Online session)

In this session, we’ll discuss this journal article: What does empathy sound like in social work communication?

This article contributes to the development of understanding about empathy as a social work skill. It focuses on a study which analysed recordings of conversations between workers in a child protection service and parents.

The research highlighted how workers communicated empathy through what they said (or asked).

We'll invite you to talk together and reflect on what you think about the article. We’ll ask you to consider if there are things in the article that could inform your practice.
