This accessibility statement explains how the Insight Collective website meets the regulations for accessibility on public sector websites.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Social Care Wales is committed to making our websites and mobile applications accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

This accessibility statement applies to Insight Collective website published by Social Care Wales.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:

  • Link Purpose: Some links lack descriptive text, making it difficult for screen reader users to decide on interaction (WCAG 2.4.9: Link Purpose & 2.4.4: Link Purpose).
  • Descriptive Image Links: Images used as links lack descriptive alternative text, hindering accessibility and usability (WCAG 1.1.1: Non-text Content, 2.4.4: Link Purpose, 2.5.3: Label in Name).
  • Status Message Readability: Messages conveying page results are not announced by assistive technologies (WCAG 4.1.3: Status Messages).

We are aware of some issues on the site that fall outside of the scope of the accessibility regulations, these include:

While we strive to make our site accessible to everyone, some features currently fall outside the scope of UK accessibility regulations. These include:

  • Providing a mechanism to identify specific definitions of words or phrases used in an unusual or restricted way, including idioms and jargon.
  • Identifying the expanded form or meaning of abbreviations.
  • Offering easy-read versions of content that has a more advanced reading ability than lower secondary education level.
  • Identifying the specific pronunciation of words where meaning is unclear.
  • Implementing a mechanism to change context by user request or turn off such changes.
  • Providing context-sensitive help (WCAG 3.3.5).
  • Offering in-context instructions and cues to assist with completing and submitting forms.
  • Ensuring form submissions are reversible (WCAG 3.3.6).
  • Implementing data entry checks and user correction opportunities.
  • Providing a mechanism for reviewing, confirming, and correcting information before final submission (WCAG 3.3.6).

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

Following an audit by the Digital Accessibility Centre We are currently working on all Level A and AA issues to ensure the site is accessible.

We will also regularly use tools such as SiteImprove to fix any accessibility issues.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was first prepared on 13 February 2024.

The statement was prepared following an accessibility audit report prepared by the Digital Accessibility Centre. SiteImprove is regularly used to monitor the site’s accessibility and to identify issues.

Enforcement procedure

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’).
