The Adult social care linked data research group: celebrating the first webinar
In December 2024, the Administrative Data Research (ADR) Wales social care team hosted its first Adult social care linked data research group webinar. The event focused on promoting data developments and exciting research opportunities in the sector.
Webinar highlights
Researchers and professionals from across the adult social care sector came along to share their interest in using linked administrative data.
The session included information on:
- the Adults Receiving Care and Support (ARCS) Census and the Unpaid Carers Census
- how researchers from the Centre for Adult Social Care Research (CARE) intend to use census data in their planned research
- how the Centre for Trials Research at Cardiff University have been using routinely collected data for over a decade
- a scoping review carried out by the Centre for Trials Research of what adult social care data is currently available for linkage across the UK.
The full webinar recording and a blog about the event can be accessed through the ADR Wales page.
“We had a wonderful end of the year in the group, hosting our first webinar. We brought together people who worked in adult social care research, or with an interest in this area, particularly in using linked administrative data.” – Tara Hughes, research officer, ADR Wales social care team.
