New dashboard makes it easier to find out more about the registered social care workforce

20 November 2025

We've developed a new dashboard that will make it easier for you to find out more about the registered social care workforce in Wales.

When people register with us, they share information about their job, qualifications and who they are.

The dashboard will give you an overview of some of the data we hold as part of that Register, and you can tailor it to show the information you’re most interested in.

This new tool will make it easier for you to find answers to questions you might have about the registered workforce.

How to access the dashboard

The dashboard is available on the National Social Care Data Portal for Wales

You can access it by clicking ‘Registration Report’ in the menu bar at the top of the portal.

The dashboard will initially show you data for the total number of people on the Register across Wales, and for the most recent month available. But you can filter by job type and geography, and view information about:

  • sector
  • qualifications
  • reasons for leaving
  • demographics.

Portal updates

You can also find the latest information about the registered workforce elsewhere on the portal

Each month we update the portal with the previous month’s registration data.

That means you can access up-to-date information about things like how many people work in a particular role, age breakdowns for different job roles, or how Welsh language skill levels are changing.

You’ll find this data in the Workforce area of the data portal. From there, you can explore the sub-categories broken down by job roles and the different types of information people shared when they registered.
