Background

Supporting the mental health and well-being of young people (including those who have cared experienced or young carers) across health, social care and education are policy priorities. The same imperative applies to the mental health and well-being of practitioners and teachers. The aim of the Whole School Approach in Wales is to help schools review and improve their emotional and mental‑wellbeing provision by working with learners, staff, families, and wider services to create a supportive environment where wellbeing is embedded across the entire school system. Achieving this can be challenging. This event will focus on the role of relationships and dialogue in making the Whole School Approach a practical reality.  The event will provide an opportunity to showcase and explore evidence from research, lived experience and practice around the use of relational and dialogic methods. Its aim is to foster connections and reflections across education, health and social care with a focus on the interdependent well-being of all concerned.
