Build your innovation skills with our new workshops
We're hosting a series of practical online workshops to help you explore new ideas, tackle complex challenges and build your confidence in using innovation approaches at work.
Whether you're completely new to innovation or looking to develop your skills, these sessions offer practical tools, inspiring examples and opportunities to learn from others.
Over the coming months, we'll explore four topics:
- Understanding the problem, finding better solutions
- Better conversations, better insights
- Test, learn, improve
- Turning good ideas into action
The sessions are designed for people who are involved in improvement, service development, transformation or day-to-day problem solving.
Our first session takes place on 24 September from 10am until 12pm and focuses on understanding the problem and finding better solutions.
Skills workshop 1: Understanding the problem, finding better solutions
When? Thursday 24 September, 10am to 12pm
Sometimes the biggest barrier to progress is solving the wrong problem.
This practical session will introduce simple tools to help you understand complex challenges, uncover root causes and explore opportunities for change.
Using real examples from social care, we'll explore how approaching a problem from different perspectives can help you identify new opportunities and develop better solutions.
You'll leave with practical techniques to:
- define and scope complex issues
- explore different perspectives
- identify underlying needs and opportunities
- create clearer problem statements that help guide action.
The session will be led by Angharad Dalton, our Head of Innovation Capability and Coaching.
