Join our new digital and data communities of practice for social care

20 May 2026

We’ve created two new communities of practice to support the use of digital and data in social care.

The communities provide a space for people across social care in Wales to share knowledge, grow their confidence and skills, and turn insight into action.

They’ll help you build connections across organisations and disciplines, and to share tools, resources and good practice.

Our vision is to create a sector where digital and data are used to deliver better services.

Whether you’re an expert in digital and data, just starting out, or simply curious about how they could support your work – everyone is welcome in our communities

Digital Community

Become a member of the Social Care Wales Digital Community.

Data Community

Become a member of the Social Care Wales Data Community.

Depending on whether you've been a member of one of our communities before, you may be asked to create an account before joining a specific community.

Join the Digital Community if you:

  • find digital daunting but are curious about how it might support social care
  • work with digital and technology in your role and want to collaborate with others
  • are building your digital skills and want to share learnings and learn from others.

Join the Data Community if you:

  • work with data every day and want to collaborate with others, learn from their experiences and share practice
  • use data to inform practice and need somewhere to explore challenges together and build confidence
  • want to strengthen your understanding of how people in different roles use data, and how these roles can support each other.

How the communities will work

The communities are guided by their members with the support of one of our community managers.

Both will provide a mix of online and in-person opportunities to connect with other members and to learn from others.

Our regular community events will cover a range of relevant topics. And while our digital and data communities are separate from each other, we recognise that there may be areas of crossover – so the communities will come together for joint events from time to time.

Between events, members will be able to connect through an online platform, where they can discuss topics on our message board, read or write a blog, and access a range of useful resources.

We want our communities to be shaped by what matters most to the members.

Lilla Vér

Lilla Vér

I’m Lilla and I’ll be looking after our new Digital Community.

My aim is to create and nurture a safe space for people to learn together, connect and support each other.

I previously developed and led another community of practice, and I'll bring a lot of learning into this community.

I’m digitally curious and keen to deepen my understanding of digital in social care alongside you.

Zoe Davies

Zoe Davies

I’m Zoe and I’ll be taking care of our Data Community.

My aim is to create an accessible, non-judgemental space for us to build our data skills, connect with one another and share learning.

Previously, I was a data analyst for Social Care Wales and Welsh Water.

I believe that through collaboration, social care data has the potential to transform services and outcomes for the people who access care and support.
