Data Community

The Social Care Wales Data Community is for anyone working in social care across Wales who believes that better use of data can help deliver better care.

Whether you’re an analyst, strategist, manager, frontline practitioner, or simply curious about how information can improve people’s lives, you’re welcome to take part.

The community brings together people from across organisations and roles to explore how data can support decision‑making, strengthen practice, and improve outcomes for people and communities.

Members can:

  • share ideas, challenges and examples from their work
  • learn from others using data in meaningful ways
  • build confidence in areas such as data quality, ethics and storytelling
  • connect with others who want to make better use of data.

You don’t need to be a data expert to get involved, just an interest in how information can support more effective, person‑centred care.

The community connects through events and an online platform where members can continue discussions, share resources and collaborate. An initial advisory group will help shape the community as it develops.

Our aim is to build a supportive, practical community that helps social care in Wales make the most of its data for the benefit of people and communities.

I take care of our Data Community. My role is to create an accessible, non-judgemental space for us to build our data skills, connect with one another and share learning. I believe that through collaboration, social care data, has the potential to transform services and outcomes for the people who need care and support. Previously, I was a data analyst for Social Care Wales and Welsh Water.
